I liked the course and learned a bit more about sand filters and how bioretention systems differ from general detention systems.
There appeared to be a few typos in the course material - most noticeably in one of the equations.
I believe the components and their order of the sand filters could have been more carefully explained.

A couple of revisions could make this short introduction to sand filters and bioretention systems based on NJ and NY standards more instructive: provide a calculation example for the bioretention system; explain why the calculation example for the sand filter provides less than the required sand bed surface area, forebay volume and surface area.

Explanations of design parameters for both systems was clear and well-organized. Calculations and suggestions for use can be used in actual practice, in locations other than NJ and NY. Any engineer that deals with stormwater and especially treatment, should consider taking this course.

The course gives a good overview of design, operation, and maintenance of these systems, and the limits of their application. It also gives perspective of how different states approach the issues with designing and building these facilities.
One discrepancy in the text is with respect to Equation 1 on pp. 12 and 22. The tables above the equation defines D(sub FT) as the temp. water depth in feet, but the equation uses D(sub ST), which I think is the same as D(sub FT).

As this is a course geared towards professionals, the expectation was that it would presented professionally. There were numerous misspellings and other grammatical errors. The descriptions provided for the components of the equations could have been clearer and more complete. The examples were confusing and there were calculations and answers that couldn't be confirmed through the use of the given equations and/or information.
