John A. DeRugeris, P.E. is a Professional Engineer licensed in twelve coastal states, and an ACSM Certified Hydrographer. He has over forty years of experience in engineering projects as a Project Manager, Construction Manager, Project Lead Engineer and Principal Engineer. Mr. DeRugeris' career has consisted of projects which include heavy, highway and marine construction, mining, dredging & hydrographic survey, industrial and commercial building, environmental restoration (including Superfund), environmental permitting, and client representation. His primary focus for the past thirty years has been design of marine structures, and marine navigation projects. He has worked on hundreds of marine projects ranging in size from small recreational boating facilities to multi-million dollar offshore marine projects. Typical larger works have included marine pipelines, ship and ferry berthing facilities, improvement and environmental dredging, marinas, shipyard facilities, coastal protection, coastal flooding, estuary restoration and marine structural rehabilitation projects. He has authored numerous papers for the ASCE Ports Conferences, as well as the Texas A&M/ WEDA Conferences, subjects included Marine Structural Issues, Environmental Dredging Projects, and Advanced Hydrographic Survey Electronics.
