The information presented is clear, concise and a good primer on the subject. It compares very favorably with in-person continuing education classes done by a major university school of engineering I have attended. There was a little information on regulatory rules for specific locations but that did not detract from the course, but rather indicated that a design engineer should be aware of such rules for the location where they are working.

Overall a decent course, but material is a bit dated.
More emphasis should be placed on pretreatment for residential system (I've seen many of these fail in MD due to debris from downspouts). Also, geotextile is generally a bad idea in the bottom of these features and can lead to premature failure.

Overall, a good introduction to dry wells especially since my job focuses on airside development at airports and I do not see these site interesting features in my daily toils. For a more intimate understanding of dry well design, however, rather than gaining just a familiarity, I would recommend the test include several questions asking for calculations to design various parts of a dry well system. It is no secret that for many on-line/self-paced continuing education courses, most test questions are answered with a quick search of a PDF file. As this course touched on soil permeability, I would also recommend taking course 169 Soil Permeability Testing with it.

I would rate this course as above average. Nothing wrong with what is provided. However, I believe that several calculations should be included on the test. Running through the calculations to determine a required drywell style and size helps with understanding. This would be especially true with Example 2.

This course was very informative regarding the fundamentals for design of drywells. I found the sample calculations to require close attention to avoid misinterpretation of units, specifically I recommend spaces either side of the "X" symbols to clarify units.
