Mr. Blaise Fitzpatrick, P.E. of Fitzpatrick Engineering Associates (FEA) has been involved with design and construction of MSE (mechanically stabilized earth) walls since 1992. As FEA's Principal Engineer, Mr. Fitzpatrick has been responsible for a variety of activities involving design and construction of more than 12 million square feet of MSE walls and slopes to heights up to 64-ft tall. Mr. Fitzpatrick holds a bachelors degree in civil engineering (1990) and master's degree in geotechnical engineering (1991) from the University of Rhode Island.
Mr. Fitzpatrick has been retained as an expert witness on failure projects involving retaining wall structures including MSE walls and slopes. Failure investigations were coordinated with other design professionals including civil and geotechnical engineers and surveyors to assess cause of failure and provide solutions for reconstruction or repair.
