A little too simplistic. But then I am a drainage engineer, so most of this is common sense. No offense intended, I have been doing this kind of work for 30 years.
We use words like "Basic" or "Introduction" in course titles to make it clear to experts with many years of experience that the course may not satisfy their appetite for complexity.

Note: a level pad is needed for RVs to prevent severe appliance damage, in addition to protecting and allowing slide-outs to function. Almost every RV owner prefers a level pad and does NOT want it sloped for drainage - as seems to be common in Florida. Slope away from the pad.
I suggest that the author review the 'always' and 'never' statements throughout the course and consider rewording them. I found that most of these "absolutes" could be eliminated. As a problem solving engineer I try to avoid the word 'never'.
Otherwise, this was a good overview of issues a designer will face.

This course is ideal for teaching the planning of Campgrounds by giving the basic planning and design considerations. The Engineering, (Roadway, Paving, Drainage, Sanitary, Water, etc. designs) are the same as in Subdivisions. It should be also a Surveying (Planning) course.

Great entry level course. As the baby boomers retire, there will be a strong demand for more camping facilities.
Maybe a little more emphasis on ADA requirements since I see more campers who travel in their 80s and 90s.

The course has factual information. As an long time RV'er and
a civil engineer who has designed campgrounds for COE property,
I did not find any significant thing to quibble about. The pictures and sketches were well suited to the purpose.
Would like to see more about dealing with with existing or
desired vegetation, shade and screening between sites.

Improvement suggestion
Good information, but should include typical/extreme dimensions or RVs (course mentions 50 foot depth for spaces which may not be sufficient for largest (45 foot) motorhomes.) Should include dimensions including slideouts and space for walk-around, opening storage bay and utility compartment doors. Also should include diagram for turning movements for motorhome (bus) and 5th wheel trailer (semi) type vehicles.

Misleading questions
The question about determining the bathhouse service area is misleading since the correct answer actually answers a question about the bathhouse size requirements, not determining the service area.
It is not asked if primitive campsites increase the environmental impact relative to other types of campsites, just whether or not they increase the impact. Compared to no camp site, they do.
