Excellent introduction to html coding. I thought the length was about right. I enjoyed how the examples built on each other. I had to figure out some syntax on my own in a couple of places, but it wasn't too hard. Once I got to the part of embedding videos and cascade files, the layers of programming got more tedious. This course confirmed what I already knew....my calling does not involve coding. The course was well written, easy to follow and I learned a significant amount.

Copyright 2012, newest reference dated 2014. 6 yrs in the CS universe is a lifetime, so how much of this presentation is current best practice? This is basic stuff so it seems kinda lazy to not offer reasonably current content. If not for the elderly content, would have rated 4.5 . Will not consider buying more in the series until update is offered.

Good for a beginner to learn what HTML language is and how it is used to create a web site. A very simple web site can be created as advertised, that is the HTML code for it. One has learned the code must be put on a hosting web server to go live. Even if you don't plan to code and create a web site it could possibly benefit one in communicating with programmers .

I do not think the correct video played for the traffic analysis video embedding.
The course author has checked the html file, the video link and the embed code, and they work as designed. The objective of the exercise is to demonstrate how to create a video link on a web page and then how to embed a video on a web page. In the exercise the user creates the links and tests them. A successful test completes the exercise. The video link is called Traffic Data Analysis. The 27 minute video used for this demo shows general data analysis calculations. The user does not have to watch the entire video for any purpose to complete the course.

I've taken courses from this Author before and he does a really good job in preparing a quality useful course.
In this course in some places he provides the general syntax then only provides an example in the full code. I would prefer to see a specific example with an explanation of it use with the general example first. I find it harder to follow to scroll down and look at it with a lot of other code around it. If I had seen it above, it would be easier to follow below. Also, I felt like I wanted to edit some parts and replace words like "the former" with the exact reference such as "column width" so it reads clearer. It is correct the way it is written but when one is learning, the brain bandwidth needs to be used on soaking in the concepts not interpreting the writing. This is only meant as feedback to help improve a very well done course.
I not only find that this as a good course but the course is also a valuable reference for the future that I will keep to refer to. I will also repeat the course as I think it will be worth it to re-enforce the learning. I really appreciate the effort the author put into providing a quality course. It worth every penny and will be useful to me in my practice!

It wasn't clear to me how I supposed to do the downloads which were required in the text. I finally found the Download Free Software link in my Course Order Information. Then I was able to get the downloads. Even then it wasn't clear which one the files I was suppose to download. Sometimes the changes I was supposed to make were already in the download.

Use the "Download Free Software" link on the course materials page that you receive when you purchase the course. It contains the photos, pdfs and other materials that were applied in the tutorials for this course.

Superb Entry HTML5 Course
I have tried to learn HTML several times - without success.
This course "thinks like I do".
I have no objections, but the Quiz for Part 1 was a little beyond Part 1 and used notation not identical to the course content. This forced a "stretch" in answering questions, but actually added to the learning.
