I recommend this course highly for a PE that has a "working" knowledge of the NEC/NFPA. It detailed and demanding. It needs to have the appropriate tables embedded in the text; most non-electrical types probably do not have copies available. [It's a 4.5/5.0]

I am not an electrical engineer, but I selected this course to help me working with them. The material was not as familiar to me, and therefore took a bit more concentration and study. In the end, it was a satisfying and rewarding introduction to the subject matter. Grammatical and typographical problems (mentioned in other comments) were sometimes distracting, and were the only reason I did not give the fifth star.

As an overview, very good. Also chapter 5 material is especially useful. Will retain for reference. I appreciated the references to sources external to yet impacting on NEC. Spelling and grammar errors abound. I can provide markups if desired. Question 10 improperly worded. As worded, proper reference article would be 240.6, standard ampere ratings for breakers and fuses, whereas question intended to reference article 210.18, branch-circuit ratings. Ex 9 on page 36 is incorrect. Article is permitting RMC threadless fittings in addition to threaded RMC, not restricting usage.

The course did a good job of trying to summarize the NEC(NFPA 70), and focused on many of the more important issues an engineer needs to know.
The test was relatively straight forward, but there were several questions that required a little more knowledge than the brief coverage in the text. All in all a great course that will make you think, even if your experienced with the NEC.

This was challenging course, but worth the effort. The content was mostly commentary on the NEC, but needed at least references to the necessary tables to answer the quiz. The details were "tricky" like the code because it was difficult to understand some of the "Table such and such, refers you to another table which has notes that you can go to another table for the answer, provided that...etc.
But the questions did improve my understanding of how to use the code.

Excellent presentation. There are several typo errors, but the presentation is oriented to the design oriented personnel. The course quoted NEC2017 text, though the course is meant to present NEC 2020. The worked examples are very appropriate. A thorough work presenting the mostly used provisions and their applications.

Course 414 is very good in terms of content, and I recommend it for engineers in all fields; however, the wording needs to be smoothed in a few places, and a spelling check would help. I feel that the student should have access to a copy of the 2020 NEC code book to obtain maximum benefit from the course.
