This is a very good course on bolts and bolted connections. I especially like the section on loads produced by eccentric loading

Very clearly written, and useful. I suggest that consistent terms be used for "centroid" and "center of gravity", and for "stress" and "force". Tensile stress and tensileforce are not identical.

Intro to bolted connections

I enjoyed the course overall and learned some things. My complaint is that double shear configurations for bolts aren't explained well nor are any examples shown. The situation is confusing when a bolt is used in something like a clevis. I understand the bolt in the outer part is in double shear but the bolt carrying the inner part is in single shear since the bolt is carrying the full load and not divided like for the outer part.

A reasonable discussion of bolted joints in shear. A slightly expanded discussion of the failure modes would improve understanding what design checks need be made. Tension joints are not covered very well with no discussion of preloading. Maybe breaking the course into two courses, one for shear loaded joints and one for tension loaded joints, would be appropriate.

The course was fine but a simple for four CEUs. Furthermore, the problems I carelessly missed were all in the calculations part of the exam but I still get full credit. That's nice for me, but a poor reflection on a PE.
