Good working review of the design process. With the amount of time involved to complete this course (closer to 8hrs) it should be broken into two courses or additional credit hours. (Built spreadsheet and time involved figuring out equations.) Had problems following the calculations of CRs. I don't believe it is being calculated correctly in the examples. I believe the example is using Tult instead of Tsc.

The course was practical and I believe I learned something that could help me in my work. There was one mistake on the test, I believe it is question 15. . . . Also the text and test not 100% consistent calling the "Overturning Moment " a "Driving Moment".
The reviewer disagrees with the correct answer to question #15. A portion of the review comments were removed because they address the correct answers to questions.
The term "Overturning Moment" is used in the course, the term "Driving Moment" is not used.

This is not a course! It is a directed plug 'n' chug exercise involving some 40+ formulas plus most "test" questions tell you what formula number to use!!! An exercise in tedium! Many typos in study guide and test, missing nomenclature and definitions, mixed terms and subscripts made this somewhat of a bear to wade thru. There appear to be some units consistency problems in some of the formulas. Having said this it was interesting to see that there is a much greater level of complexity involved in designing a MSE wall than is apparent in courses 1 & 2. In fact it was just this that made the angst of dealing with the study guide shortcomings worthwhile. I wonder just how stable these MSE walls are in areas where they are subjected to numerous frequent smallish earthquakes resulting from fracking. I see no mention of design to withstand earthquake loads or considerations given to fluidization of the wall fill material that could result from earthquakes.
