Interesting material, but it needs to be proofed by other drone specialists. Presentation was terse, mechanical, and very confusing in sections. (The no fly zone info should be reworked.) In short, readability needs improvement. This is a lot of good material from a knowledgeable source, but it seems thrown together. Also, the word 'size' in question 21 should probably be replaced with 'resolution'.

But overall, very informative and it satisfied my goal of learning more about drone capabilities. Will there be any more courses that address specific applications? I would like to learn more.

I found this course interesting, but very disjointed. It seemed to be all over the place without a clear outline. There were a lot of links to external web sites that cluttered up the course layout and had seemingly random placement. Those may be better in an appendix or use shorter link designations and standard "link boxes". Some of the critical info was in the "photo boxes" and not where I would expect to find it. I learned quite a bit though, think I'll try to get my license.

I liked the techie details like ISO setting for imagary and the detailing of the various modes - waypoints, point of interest, etc. Would like the author to add a bit of insight regarding drone versus boots on the ground. This was done for bridge inspections, but a key part was missing - NASA has shown that for crack detection (fracture critical parts) a visual inspection is NOT valid. A better method is NASTRAN mode shape modeling. Two engineers at NASA used this system to put a 15 pound (yes fifteen) input at the tail of the shuttle and found a loose rocket fuel line IN THE NOSE of the shuttle. On roofing, the drone cannot find lifted shingles because lifted shingles look normal. Also, loose sheathing would not be found, as the softness of the stiffness (as in stepping down onto) of the sheathing requires a mechanical inspection.

This is a major PDH qualifier travesty!! I cannot understand why a grade school level presentation [I purposefully use presentation in lieu of course as THIS IS NOT A COURSE] like this is allowed to be used for PE PDH hours! In so allowing this similar presentations on say PCs, tablets, e-readers, Garmin devices, automobiles, the list is endless could be arguably allowed for obtaining PDH hours as these devices are also tool that engineers use to do their jobs. I have taken about 30 and have purchased but not yet taken another 15 or so SunCam courses and all but a couple have been pretty good. This one tho is a travesty no self respecting PE could ethically support as worthy of providing any PDH and I am not going to claim it as part of my annual state requirement.
