I enjoyed this course because it was detailed enough for a non-electrical engineer to understand fundamentals of power equipment used in commercial, industrial, and residential installations. Summarized into a concise reference document.

I agree that a single switch gear is larger than a single starter in a MCC, however MCC's can take up far more room than the switch gear feeding it. Sp. PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLSERS, page 31 of 32. i do agree that this is a good over view for a new engineer.

Very good course. Just a side note - the photo of the two panelboards with a floor mounted transformer between them may not be a code clearance problem since it's the same width as the space between the panelboards but is still an unsafe situation.

This gives a summary of the various components of Electrical equipment conduits and wiring with good illustrations. The photos are helpful for recognition of the equipment. I would suggest that references be given for guidance to the necessary engineering required to actually design or spec the equipment.

Good summary of some of the key components in power supply. I'm a civil eng'r, and always want to know enough about the topic to at least talk intelligently with electricians, power company people, etc. This course helps...(But please, run a spellcheck and check the grammar / proofread it a bit better....Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars)

Good! Question: Why are utilities allowed to omit or incorrectly connect required transformers resulting in 207 volts service. This creates a phase mis-match that reflects 25% of the power back to the generator?

The course attempts to and does a great job covering a tremendous amount of material. It would greatly benefit from additional acronym and terminology control, such as a list of acronyms and technical terms included at the end of the course document. Also, it would be helpful to minimize acronyms as much as possible (e.g., additional acronyms for VFDs).
