I think what is a large concern that no one wants to admit that all professionals should be aware of.
New cars are susceptable to hacking thanks to parking assist and bluetooth. Very concerning. Imagine a USA full of automated cars that are all hacked with a common virus... "All cars: Accelerate and turn left at 6pm on this date". The reprocussions are disasterous and VERY POSSIBLE. We are not ready for this technology to be implemented. We have boldly stepped into an area that technology could result in more death and destruction in one minute than we have seen before. We are not secure and have a responsibility to proceed with caution! Educate professionals to be aware of this.

The reviewer raises an important point. Security of the vehicle communication and electronic systems is a major concern, even for current vehicles, and especially for autonomous/automated vehicles of the future.
All of the constituents involved in this field (USDOT, ITS America, vehicle manufacturers, etc.) have this concern at the forefront of the discussions
involving standards, protocols, technologies, and so on. While this is an
important topic, it was beyond the scope of this particular course."
