I hope that in a more advanced course you can get into mix designs for different uses. I often run into this with contractors asking me what design they should use for different uses.

Overview, introduction of Asphalt Pavement Construction was succinct and relatively up to date. Could have been a few more to the point questions for what I consider important points to remember. Some information on types of degradation of asphalt pavement over time, climate and use, and their causes. Good intro course.

Good intro to asphalt pavement construction. However, test question 14 says "RAP" is defined as Recycled Asphalt Product but course notes define it as Recycled Asphalt Pavement.

As an introduction I felt that the course gave allot of basic and good information and answered allot of questions I have had observing asphalt paving jobs for many years. There were some term use inconsistencies in question 7 & 14 that were not the same as in the text. This is difficult for someone not versed in the industry to be able to feel comfortable with other terms. Many times this approach can be used as a "trick" question.

Nice refresher or beginner course in asphalt. Covers the basics of how it is produced to proper placement. It was easy to follow and understand the author's presentation. sometimes I wonder if our DOT has even taken a course like this.
