I thought that the course was very thorough and provided numerous examples for the reader to learn. Overall, great course on the "basics" of vibration modal analysis. That said, I wish that the introductory material was more developed to explain to the reader where all of the terms, definitions, and formulas are derived from. There are some "holes" left in the text, requiring the reader to fill in the blanks. Not such a bad thing for education, as long as the reader actually fills those blanks in. Thank you!

This course covers a complex topic that can be difficult to follow for those who haven't been working on this level in a while. If you can avoid getting absorbed in the math, the message is still there and its a bit easier to read.

1) This is the toughest course I have taken in many years. When I read another review suggesting this was tough, I took the challenge to do the course.
2) This will not be a rewarding experience for Professional Engineers needed PDH's within a short time frame.
3) The course re-introduced me to matrix and linear algebra. About sixty percent of the way through the material a "light came on" and the connection with real data and complex number math became clear. The last 40% of the course went quickly.
4) Memories of university Differential Equation and Linear Algebra courses highlight that I should have paid more attention to what was being taught while in school. Thank you, Dr. Schmitz, for putting together a truly "professional development" course.

This was a very good course on modal analysis. It gave the fundamentals for modal analysis and provides the background for FEA-based solutions. I have always had a hard time understanding modal coordinates but it was well presented in this course.

The course is not a "basics" course but more like one taught in an engineering university. If vibrations is a person's forte, they will enjoy it: if not it will be both too long and detailed.

Good technical foundation to understand transform to frequency domain. Would like to see more on practical application and tools (perhaps a second course). Quiz complements material nicely - answering requires enough re-reading to reinforce key concepts.
