This was not my first course at SunCam. There are a variety of courses to choose from. they are efficient and informing. I still do my continuing education even though I am retired.
I have used suncam on many occasions over the years. It is a great website for continuing education courses for engineers. The system is very convenient to work on your materials at your own pace and take the tests. The web adminstrator is responsive to any issues. continuing education aside, I have used the website as a general reference on many topics as the authors are generally highly experienced practitioners.
I have utilized SunCam for several years now, and have been very satisfied with the content and quality of the courses. The on-line format and discounted "featured courses" keep the cost of maintaining my PE training current much lower than the usual seminars that require travel and charge much higher fees.
Excellent course on Ethics without a lot of "Legalize". Easy to access and submit online. Immediate response after submittal letting me know my score and sending my certificate.

I was pleased with the quality of the courses that I took this year, however, I am not a civil engineer, I am in controls and electrical engineering. I looked the entire year for a special on a course that had direct applicability to my field and they were very few. Please add more courses in other fields. It is really great to know about soil conditioning and building codes, but it doesn't help me very much in my chosen work.

I am a currently licensed Professional Engineer in PA, NJ, and DE. NJ required 2 hours of Ethic Course, while DE required 3 hours of Ethics courses. My NJ P.E. license is to be renewed by April 20, 2020, while my DE P.E. license is to be renewed by June 30, 2020.
I think SunCam is doing an excellent job! I am very happy, and also thankful, that SunCam add a NEW Ethics course # 424. I have purchased SunCam ethics course #324, #425 & #424. Now, I have enough SunCam ethics courses to renew both my NJ and DE P.E. licenses. I have also passed Ethic course #324 on 08/08/2018 and Ethic course #424 on 02/11/2020, to renew my NJ P.E. License, with these 2 courses. By passing the Ethics course # 425 after April 30, 2020, but before June 30, 2020, I not only will have the 3 ethics courses to renew my DE P.E. license, but also 1 of the 2 Ethics courses required to renew my NJ. P. E. License before June 30, 2022.
I have recommended a lot of my P.E. friends to take SunCam courses. I also LOVE ALL the courses that my Penn State friend, who I also worked with, Joshua Tiner has done for SunCam to sell.

Even with my experience, the course took time. With respect to the comments about not enough information, I understand those comments. I appreciate the service which Sun Cam provides us ole Engineers. I have been a P. E. since 1965 and have practiced since then. I think the ongoing CEU requires are an affront to the professionalism of P.E. As professionals we are supposed to practice only within areas in which we are qualified, and also to maintain and expand our knowledge through individual study. Therefore, I think the Boards are somewhat disingenuous in not setting corresponding requirements. Mississippi leads in that area, by suspending CEU requirements fo PE with 20years of practice. Think about that comment.
However, since we must comply, SunCam is providing the profession with a valuable service by making a variety of courses available. So I appreciate your contribution to the profession.

An excellent material for me, a beginner to learn and understand the fundamentals, but only intensive studying and understanding the system makes it possible to find the correct answers for the test questions. This course has my perfect score
Good overview of the theory and formulas of infiltration from retention ponds. While computer programs are readily available to perform these calculations, it is imperative to know the underlying background to these programs. The narrative test problems followed the course material very well. However, the test problems that require calculations need to be re-written. Too many required assumptions for variables in order to solve the problem. Unfortunately, values for these variables were not covered in the course. Overall, I give the course material and narrative test questions a 5 rating and the computational test questions a zero. Overall rating a 3.
Suncam.com website is very user friendly. I was waiting for the email but I was advised that I can read the course, take the test and even print the certificate on the website under "my courses". Its great and helpful immensely.
I spent a lot of time taking this course as I read chapters in several of the cited books to better understand the concepts. The course is an excellent overview and gave me a bit of high level engineering knowledge of antenna performance and some good practical knowledge.

Very informational and educational. I learned to be able to compare my Carrier version to Manual J. I have been doing this for 50 years.There are a lot of similarities. However, very time consuming and a lot of knowledge to try and retain for four hours of credit. I would reconsider in increasing that number of PDHS considerably.

Course material was very basic for an experienced Engineer in the field. One problem I noted is that there is no room on form for alerting multiple states that you have completed the course -- in my case I'm registered in four states and only one was accepted in filling out the form.
No state engineering board allow us to report credits directly. All require that we supply you with a certificate so you have proof of attendance.

The various SunCam courses I've tried have been well-written, specifically for them (not public domain MIL texts), and serve their intended purpose well. Compared to a 1 to 5 hour seminar you might attend they have the advantage of costing less and providing more flexibility in your schedule. I particularly appreciate the fact that exam grading details are provided, with specific comment for any incorrect response. When SunCam sends info on courses being offered it always gets my attention, especially their weekly "spotlight" course(s).

Deep water Horizon was interesting and complicated case.
Extremely interest in the case from the beginning, because I have stock in BP, Transoceanic and and Halliburton . Transoceanic stock lost 85% of its value but the technology of drilling 18000ft below the surface of the Gulf is exceptionally complicated and it is marvelous engineering . unfortunately it is not needed now and possibly for the next 15 years , unless fractions is prohibited (as environmental problems is piling up) then we have an alternative technology. Excellent choice for a course

Have taken 7+ SunCam courses and have been pleased with all. Good selection of subjects, good presentation, and good value for PDH's. One course would not load online but a call to their 800 number on a Saturday afternoon had it fixed in minutes...pretty darn good service.

Good tutorials and learning experiences are all I have had with SunCam. Treat yourself to learning or relearning material in a much better way than sitting at a conference.
This is an updated rating. I originally rated Suncam a four because of lack of response to phone calls. They sent an email claiming an important diversion. Hopefully responses will be handled more promptly for everyone.
If we call, there is usually an urgent need for a reply. Otherwise, we can email.
Good email communications and website. I did ask a question via telephone that was never answered. I left my question on voicemail and requested a return call. No response after 4 days. If this is improved you will gain one more star.
So many companies out there offering a small handful of courses starting at 150$ and up without benefit of user reviews SunCam is the only source I need now for CEU's.
I have been using SunCam for many years. The have guided me through the evolution of Florida continuing education requirements. They monitor changes in the laws and rules and keep me notified of any action required on my part. Their prices are very competitive and the courses I have taken have been most instructive. I recommend SunCam to any licensed engineer.

Five stars overall, but the electronic course information appears to be set to internet explorer/microsoft software, I use google chrome and do not use outlook, so had to request a specific email link to open access. A more generic access would be helpful.

The course was very good but you have not submitted my 4 PDH to the Florida Board and I am now delinquent.
I have used SunCam as log as Florida has required continuing education. Yes, this goes back to receiving and watching those VHS tapes. The courses have been informative and beneficial, besides just completing the required PDH's. The online tests work well, and you have an instant answer following completion of the test, that is quickly updated to the state licensing office.
This class was awesome. As this was my first renewal of my license, it was my first time taking the laws and rules course. I have heard that stabbing yourself in the throat is more fun than taking laws and rules. BUT, the format of this exam helped ot clarify many questions I have had in practice over the first two years of my practice. This was VERY helpful and VERY practical.
The SunCam DVD was very convenient and easy to use. This is an excellent way to take re-registration courses. The presentations were very well recorded with both vidio and audio of high quality and very professionally recorded.
I appreciate the organization of the website and the ease of finding what I seek without a lot of wasted effort.

I have used Sun Cam for continuing education before and I have always been very satisfied with the quality of the courses, ease of use of on-line services and quick returns of test results.
I enjoyed learning about this technology. The material was well ordered and easy to follow. The only issue that I have is that two of my answers were not sent and a third was different than what I checked off. I Printed the test and then put the answer that I had made for each question and was on the computer screen.
I find your courses to be very helpful in expanding my understanding and knowledge. I particularly like the quality of the presenters. I am very appreciative of the reminders you provide and also for the follow-up a member of your staff (e.g., Kathy Dunn) did to alert me that I forgot to include my Florida license number with one of my tests. Not only did she alert me, she offered to provide the Board with the missing information. Great customer service!!
Every two years a renewal is due in Florida. I always start out with great zest and gusto completing the laws and rules with intention of completing the technical immediately afterwards. I never do and ultimately complete it in February just in time to renew my liscense. Sun Cam makes the process straight forward, fun and affordable. Now how do you make project management exciting? You get a speaker that has enough differentiation in his voice that keeps you from going to sleep with a good sense of humor. Now that is funny.

SunCam provides a clear & concise approach to the PE renewal process
I've used SunCam for the past several renewals for the Laws and Rules portion of the required CEU's. I've found Bill and Pat to be very helpful and easy to work with. That's why I keep going back to SunCam to get those Florida PDH's. Their e-mail's on updates to law changes are also very helpful, especially to someone not living in the Sunshine State. Thanks!

If you follwo the SunCam guidelines, you can minimize unecessary time reading N/A sections. The SunCam worksheet is very helpful.

I like the way SunCam handles the laws and rules for the license requirements in Florida.
I took a 4 PDH course -Solar Power Design, from SunCam online. It is so easy and informative learning and refreshing experience. You get the score and the certificate instantly. SunCam does a good job of presenting the information in the first place. They also pick more relevant questions to ask from the material covered.
This L&R course is far better than any other I have taken in the past. It completely avoids issues relating to functioning of the Board and topics unrelated to the actual practice of engineering. I felt the questions were well written. They required more than just finding the right section in the rules, but were fair... no "trick" questions.
The online course was easily accessed, and the supporting links were very helpful and well organized.
The SunCam on-line classes offer a quick and efficient option for obtaining professional development hours. The on-line material and quiz are convenient, and provide an effective learning experience.

The course is generally good. Just a few issue - the interface shows only a small screen, that can be improved.
Bill, there are a few problems within this course which would qualify as pressure flow (submerged inlet and outlet) where the delta head (inlet to outlet) plays a factor in the flow produced through the pipe. I know of the use of the Manning Eqn for gravity flow only. Comments?
Very simple to access and track the course test and test submission. SunCam also has a good variety of course topics. I would use SunCam again.

Great variety, really like the idea of any amount of time. I was getting stuff together to renew and discovered a coarse I though was 8 hours was actually only seven hours. Found you, selected a 2 hour unit and made up for lost hour, also found material really down here where we work. Too often coarses have nothing to do with what we do from day to day. GOOD JOGB, GUYS.

Excellent Refresher Course. I was not aware of the Computer Program until I registered for this course.
SunCam provides a cost effective service for obtaining PDH's with informative information applicable to FL requirements.
An excellent organization to deal with - very personable and friendly.
Sun Cam's presentation of the material for, Mechanically Stabilized Earth Structures - Course 017, is excellent and their Web Site is easy to follow. The cost is very competive.

This was a difficult class to read through all the printed material, the searchable PDF is the best way to study and complete the test.

This was a nice course, and easy to follow.
This course is good, it has a very well structured format. I recommend it. The only objection that I have is a discrepancy that I have between the actual test score (88%) and my work sheet score(100%), if possible I would appreciate to see my submitted exam.
The course was good and i learned more about the laws and rules than attending the board meetings. For some of the test questions the answers were difficult to find in the guide which required you to think outside the box.
This is an effective way of getting CE hours. Materials are pretty comprehensive on topics.
I would have liked to have been able to review the results of the test after the first time I took it...and failed to pass. This is when the feedback would have been most helful... and a learning experience.

Very thorough presentation of Laws and Rules. I learned a lot from the slides and even more from his discussion of the slides.
For those that are not exposed to this discipline routinely, additional examples would have been helpful. Also, providing solutions to the problems upon test completion would be of value to complement couse text.

The course was a great review of the Hazen-Williams formula. The exercises were simple enough to complete in a timely manner yet challenging enough to be interesting. The "Hydro-Calc" was useful to me.
The presentation was easy to listen to and Ed Bayo made it very interesting.

This was a very good course. It included high level as well as low level information. It referenced websites and discussed next steps for further information or further education. It kept me interested. I learned what I wanted to learn in a short amount of time.

Good introductory course on planning a small system. I would like to see a little more detail on calculating the required length of the buried pipe system
Good course, more from a lawyers point of view (i.e. legal"eze" speak which is tough for many engineers to understand). Only bad thing is that you don't find out which questions you answered correctly/incorrectly.
I believe question 9 of the exam should be revisited for accuracy.
